FEBRUARY:

07.01-08.03    FASCHING (Carnival) – more than 700 fancy dress balls. The climax is “Fasching Sonntag” (Carnival Sunday) when Marienplatz turns into a huge party zone; music, fancy dress & dancing. The highlight is the “dance of the market women” at Viktualienmarkt  on Shrove Tuesday at 11am.

 

MARCH:

09.03-mid April    STARKBIERFEST – Strong Beer is served during the lent period. A “must” for beer lovers!

29.04-15.05     47th FRÜHLINGSFEST (Spring Festival at the Theresienwiese). – The “little sister of the Oktoberfest”! ..amusement park, stalls, beergardens…a great day out for everyone

23.04-May    BMW OPEN – International tennis tournament

30.04-08.05    MAIDULT – open air market selling second hand wares, household goods and antiquites

JUNE:

09.10    MUNICH MARATHON through the English garden, finishing at the Olympic stadium

15.10    LONG NIGHT OF MUNICH MUSEUMS approx. 90 city museums and galleries stay open through the evening until the early hours. Buy 1 ticket & you get access to all participating institutions. NOVEMBER:
